Surrendering To God

It is one thing to read scriptures and intellectually know what they say but it's another thing for the word of God to become more than just intellectual theory, what Im getting at is, have you ever noticed that though the bible tells us all what the truth is we seem to have such hard time believing it, for example, this is a verse im sure many of you have heard/read before.
 

Matthew 6:31-33 (King James Version)

 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
 

Now how many of us are doing what it says? We read Gods word and we acknowledge it but yet we don't do what he tells us to do. And that my friends is the battle...that is the battle we must all overcome, reading Gods word and doing Gods word are two different things, why is it we profess to be christians and yet when it comes to walking in what we proclaim to believe we shrink back in fear? either we believe God or we don't.
 

Now imagine yourself for a moment suddenly whisked away into the presence of God, you are before him and he says to you, my son (or my daughter) I want you to go tell this group of people that I love them and that I want them to seek me, dont worry about the bills and everything else just do what I asked you to do and I will take care of the rest of it. 

Now what would you do? Would you say yes father and than the moment you leave him run frantically out to get a job, not do what he asked and instead spend the next 20 years of your life worrying about money? Of course not.

So than why would you do that now? God has allready told you to do that, its called the great commision, Ask yourself an honest question, Do you believe God is Real..Ignore everything else and just focus on that one question. IS GOD REAL. 

Now ask yourself this...If he is real (and he is) and if he loves me,( and he does) why don't I do what he says now? Will you wait till you die before you listen to him?

The bible is fascinating, but it is when you take time to study it that you see things in such a different light, in the true light, it is the study of Gods word that sets one free. But it is not just study it is study and action that opens the door to being free.

James 1:22-25 (Contemporary English Version)
Obey God's message! Don't fool yourselves by just listening to it. If you hear the message and don't obey it, you are like people who stare at themselves in a mirror and forget what they look like as soon as they leave. But you must never stop looking at the perfect law that sets you free. God will bless you in everything you do, if you listen and obey, and don't just hear and forget.

Now here is where your battle starts, you have the truth in front of you but the moment you turn to obey God something happens, the enemy attacks, deception is the lies and feelings evil throws at you to keep you from obeying what God has told you to do, 

and by stopping you with these thoughts and emotions, robs you from obtaining what it is God wills for you to have. 

Our number one purpose in life is to know God, for those who are wondering, that is the meaning of life ..and to truly know God we must Obey God. It is when you Obey God that Gods peace comes upon you not before. which brings us back to the battle we are in, 

Satan knows if you submit to God you will see blindnes lifted and come to KNOW the truth,which is why he hammers you with doubt,fear, sorrow,and countless lie after lie to keep you chained in sin.

If he keep you focused on this world and its problems and desires he knows he can keep you from truth.

Get this in your mind once and for all, You must not allow anyone to cause you to sin and you must fight to obey God no matter what the percieved result must be, it isn't easy I myself have fallen over and over and over again. trying to do this exact thing, 

But this is the nature of the battle we are in and this is the battle we all must fight. To fight it learn to recognize the enemy when  he attacks,with emotion and thoughts and choose to obey God instead. 
 

Now back to my drive, I was again struggling with doing what I know God wants all of us to do, that particular verse I posted above, when I said out of my mouth my life is forfit, all that matters is doing Gods will period. Now I have said that before but this time something seemed to end in my mind,

I can't explain what it was, But I noticed that one thing that seemed to battle in me stopped, It was than that I realized I was fighting against the very thing I was seeking, yes I know that doesn't make much sense, but I cant describe it better. 

Now after I did that I noticed that the battle was over,I found peace. Now remember this when you find peace FIGHT to keep it. and you keep it by staying focused on God.

Our true battle  is to let go of our fears doubts and worries and do what Jesus himself did for us,
Give up our lives for him. It is to live not for what we want but rather to live entirely for the purpose of doing what God wants. 

And to do that You must begin to try, Read Gods word and when you do fight to obey what you learn, It is by baby steps that we become what God intends us all to be. So begin today.

And that is what it is, when you accepted Christ you died to this world and your old self what you need to do is accept the truth of it.

For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.
 

Now if you haven't allready accepted the truth that Jesus Christ the only begotten son of God was nailed to a cross to pay the penalty for your sin and accepted his free gift of salvation, than likely all of this sounds like nonesense to you. and if that is the case than my friend you are in grave danger, hell and Judgement.... sinners and saints! all of this stuff is real.
